Cabrini Connections

Cabrini Connections is a tutor/mentor program serving 7th to 12th grade teens living in the Cabrini-Green area of Chicago. Volunteers give their time, skills, and support in seeking life-changing solutions for youth who live in an educationally disadvantaged environment. Cabrini Connections’ volunteers and teens meet from 6 to 8 o’clock in the evening at least once a week to do schoolwork or use the organization’s computers. They learn that Cabrini is a safe place to gather and make friends. A F.I.S.H. Foundation, Inc., grant is covering 80 percent of the annual stipend and health benefit expenses for a full-time Northwestern University Public Interest Program Fellow as well as needed technology equipment and materials.
